Featured Pet: Chuckles Charlie

Some of us have experienced the joyous chaos of this four-legged, Corolla-sized fluff ball hurtling toward us at full speed.
While bracing for hug impact is definitely recommended, you can’t help but fall for this oversized, furry teddy bear. I had the pleasure of chatting with his human—ride or die, treat provider, and forever sidekick—Amber, to learn a bit more about Charlie.
When is his Birthday?
In case it wasn't obvious by the fire in his eyes, Charlie is a Leo, born August 11, 2015. Making him 63 human-years-old. Or as I like to say, entering his George Clooney era.
How did you come to get Charlie?
I wanted a Bernedoodle for quite some time, and I found a breeder in Burlington and was lucky enough to be first on her litter list. She had the most bizarre questionnaire for me to fill out and she used my answers to choose Charlie from the litter specifically for me. To say I was skeptical with this approach would be an understatement, but I can't imagine a better match. 13/10 dog pairing skills.
What's his favourite thing to do?
Charlie just loves to be outside in any season except the summer. He thrives in colder weather. He just pulls up on a snowbank and passively judges people as they walk by. Charlie doesn't live in our world, we occupy his.
What nicknames have you given him?
Cheech, Chuckles, Charlesberry Steakworth, ChuckleFactory, Charles
What's his favourite food?
Cheese - you must pay the cheese tax if you are having some yourself. He will stare you down with the fiery wrath of death if you think you rise above the cheese tax. Also peanut butter, obviously. His favourite birthday party was when he turned 5 and had a Harry Potter and peanut butter themed celebration. No shocker, but he's a Gyrffindor.
What do you think he dreams about when he is sleeping?
Me. Research says dogs mostly dream about their owners, and who am I to argue with science? He barks and whines a lot in his sleep, I prefer to imagine he is rescuing me, wearing a blanket as a cape and a little superhero dog mask. Captain Chuckles to the rescue!
If he could speak, what would he say?
I have always imagined he has the voice of a dude that lives in Hawaii, teaches kindergarten, surfs and smokes way too much reefer. So he would definitely say "wasssssup?" and then laugh real slow. He would be funny, but every now and then he would say something really insightful about appreciating small moments of joy in life. Cause that's what he brings me - small, bite sized moments of joy, everyday. I am lucky that the breeder did her crazy quiz... cause he's the apple of my eye and I couldn't imagine the last 9 years without him.
